Dr Chantel Thornton, MB.BS BMSc FRACS

Jane O Brien and the Epworth Breast Service are delighted to announce the commencement of a new team member, Dr Chantel Thornton, Specialist Breast Surgeon, MB.BS BMSc FRACS.
Chantel Thornton is a specialist breast surgeon with a strong interest in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of all benign and malignant conditions of the breast and surveillance of high risk groups.
Chantel graduated dux of her year from the Tasmanian medical school and completed advanced surgical training at the Alfred Hospital prior to undertaking post fellowship training in breast cancer surgery at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Chantel has numerous charity roles. She is the chairwoman of Life Support, a charity of young professionals that raises money for the Alfred, a board member of the Alfred Foundation and a committee member of Women at The Alfred, which raises funds for prostate cancer research. She is on the board of the Foundation for Surgery and a patron of the Flying 1000 Club for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
